Katie is 17 and has been twirling for 10 years. She is a Senior at Leo HS and one of the color guard captains for the marching band. Katie is in the top 10 (academically) of her class at school. She loves baton because it is tons of fun for her and has taken private lessons, now competing on a national level. She has won the DMA Classic Starlet (13-14 category) in 2004 and finished runner-up at DMA's Mini-Nationals in Cleveland (TN) in 2006. Most recently, Katie won first place in the Beginner division at DMA Summer Nationals in Boiling Springs, NC. In addition to her title, she won a first place win in strut and a second in solo. This is Katie's 6th year as an assistant in the twirling program. In addition to her solo work, she enjoys performing with the Jr. twirl and strut teams. She does poms because we make her. |

Sarah is the student every coach wants on her team! Is currently involved in soccer and softball as well, She makes things fun and exciting for all which is why she is such an excellent teaching assistant. Girls just love her ! This is her 10th year in the program and says she "absolutely loves it". Sarah is 17 and brings tons of positive energy to the program and constantly amazes you with her 'go-getter' attitude. A true bright spot full of spunk...she's one-of-a-kind. Sarah is unique, special, and a talented twirler as well. Sarah participated in the summer nationals and took 3rd place overall in her category. |

Jessica has been twirling for 9 years and this is her 3rd year as a assistant teaching. She is 16 and is also a member of the school color guard, with rifles as her specialty. |
Michaela has a special teaching position on this staff. Born with a baton in her hand, Michaela has entertained our recital audiences since she has been teenie-tiny. Comes from a long heritage of twirlers: it all started with Sherry. Sherry taught Maw, Maw taught Michaela's mom, then came Lyndsay and Sherry taught Lyndsay, Lyndsay taught Michaela, Sherry taught Michaela, Derek taught Michaela, and now Michaela teaches for Lyndsay on special occasions. Miss Michaela was winning national titles when she was 'bout 6 and we are thrilled when she can be with us. |
