Welcome to Class

My goal is to teach you more than just how to spin a baton.  Some of what you will learn can be applied to many aspects of your life…now, and later.

Classes are fun and enjoyable, as well as beneficial, however, please remember, this is a class.  We will stay very busy – learning and laughing.

Every class has some rules.  Here are mine…

•  Be nice to each other.  Hurting others by what you say or do is not nice.
• Show respect.  Respect for your teacher, for your school, and your classmates.
•  Try your best.  (Practice outside of class helps, listening in class is best)
• Be proud of yourself.  Stand tall, keep your chin up, and be enthusiastic about life.
• Attend classes regularly.  You are a part of a team, and your team needs you.
• Wear a smile.  Performers smile – you are learning to perform.
• Come to class prepared.  (Baton, pompoms, tennis shoes, comfortable clothes, hair out of face)
• Put your name on your baton. (Use a pen, and write name on the rubber end)
• No gum chewing in class
• No visitors in class

Twirling the baton is easy to learn.  Some learn quicker than others do.  Each of you will receive group and individual instruction.  If you have questions, ask, but remember, you must share me with others in the class.  One person cannot have all the attention.
