Drum Majorettes of America
(DMA) holds contests throughout the year,
but there are three major level competitions that twirlers will travel great
distances to attend:
1) Fall Twirling Classic, 2) Mini-Nationals, and 3) Summer Nationals.
This is a 3-part
National twirling event.
The girls strut, twirl, and model their gowns.
Two of our advanced senior
team members (Emilee and Emily) traveled to West Virginia
to compete in the Drum Majorettes of America Fall Classic Twirling
Competition
held on November 15, 2008. |
|

Both girls had great
performances
(Emilee had a NO DROP SOLO--her first ever on a competition floor!)
Way to go girls!

Emily placed Runner-up
in her Beginner solo division title. |

Emilee won her beginner solo division title and was crowned "Fall
Classic Sweetheart 2008." |

Lots of extra practice and "Dedication" goes into being an individual
solo competitor.
(Wasn't that our ESSAY of October?) |
